Objective: The client requested a visual identity that captures the essence of a traditional yet modern beer house. The goal was to create a brand identity that would appeal to beer enthusiasts looking for a unique and inviting atmosphere, and could be versatile across various mediums.
Research & Discovery: The discovery phase involved studying the history of beer houses, analyzing competitors, and identifying trends within the craft beer market. Emphasis was placed on understanding the target demographic's preferences for a relaxed yet sophisticated drinking environment.
Strategy & Concept Development: Our conceptual development revolved around the idea of craft and quality. We held brainstorming sessions to explore various elements associated with beer brewing and traditional beer house aesthetics. The concept of using hop in the logo was selected to signify the craft nature of the business.
Design Execution: We went through several iterations to craft a logo that balanced traditionalism with modernity. The chosen typography was approachable and clear, while the color palette was warm and inviting. The hop icon served as a recognizable element, hinting at the quality and craftsmanship of the beer offered.
Tools & Technology: The design was executed using Adobe Creative Suite, with Illustrator for logo creation and Photoshop for mockups. AI was used to explore various color and pattern options for the branding materials quickly.
Production & Delivery: For the print materials, such as coasters and menus, we chose eco-friendly materials to reflect the brand's commitment to sustainability. The digital assets were optimized for social media platforms and the company's website, ensuring a coherent visual presence online and offline.
Outcomes & Reflections: The client reported increased brand recognition and positive feedback from customers. The visual identity has been well-received, with particular praise for its classic yet modern feel. This project emphasized the importance of balancing historical elements with contemporary design, which has become a valuable addition to my skill set.
